Fulton County Board of Health Hosts Unique Training Workshops

ATLANTA – The Fulton County Board of Health’s downtown location was the host site for two unique workshops this month. The Region IV Technical Assistance Hub and the Mississippi Public Health Institute (MSPHI) hosted the training sessions

The first session, Embracing Change, took place on March 13. This training explored how effective communication, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness positively influence how teams experience and adapt to change. Participants gained tools to help them lead with clarity, foster resilience, strengthen team cohesion, and confidently support themselves and others through ongoing transitions.

The second session, Beyond Buy-In, took place on March 19. This interactive workshop highlighted how strong alignment between leadership practices, communication, and staff experience fuels engagement and performance. Participants explored how trust, psychological safety, and effective supervision strengthen motivation, productivity, and retention. Through guided reflection and practical strategies, leaders gained tools to build meaningful engagement that connects people to purpose, moving beyond the surface and towards sustained commitment and impact.

“Trainings like these help our staff and employees develop beneficial skills that will help them grow and become better professionals and leaders within their chosen fields, says Reginald Greene, Workforce Development Director for the Fulton County Board of Health.

The training workshops were led by Lamarr Lewis of Lewis Family Consulting, LLC. He has more than 20 years of experience as a workshop facilitator and trainer, mental health therapist, consultant, and coach. The sessions were sponsored by the Public Health Infrastructure Grant.
