COLLEGE PARK – The Fulton County Board of Health held an appreciation ceremony for its nurses during the month dedicated to them. May is National Nurses month and the week of May 6 through the 12 is also a week dedicated to honor them.
“Nurses are the backbone of the healthcare industry. Through their dedication and commitment to serve, they make their patients’ lives easier as well as others living in our communities. And even though we can never repay them for their service, we wanted to show them a small token of our appreciation for them with ceremonies like this,” says Fulton County District Health Director Dr. Marcus Plescia.
During the ceremony, Dr. Plescia was one of the keynote speakers along with nurses who used to work at the Board of Health. At the end of the ceremony, nurses were honored with special awards for their dedication, commitment, and team player mentalities within their roles. Nurses also received a certificate of appreciation for the work they do each day.
