Waste Management Septic Inspection (On-site Sewage Management Systems)
Areas of Fulton County that are not served by public sanitary sewer systems utilize individual on-site sewage management systems (OSSMS) or a septic tank system. The Fulton County Board of Health Environmental Health Services (EHS) program permits and inspects OSSM systems to ensure they meet all requirements.
The Fulton County Board of Health requires a review and inspection if an On-site Sewage Management System (OSSMS) and/or individual drinking water supplies are going to be installed. Environmental Health Services reviews development plans to ensure lots are properly sized and that all regulations are met.
Non-Sewered Toilet Application
Non-Sewer Toilet Systems, any portable structures that are used for collection, temporary storage and/or chemical treatment of human body wastes that are not connected to a public or community sewage system or to an on-site sewage management system (OSSMS), are also granted permits by the Fulton County Board of Health.
The renter of the non-sewer toilet system is required to complete the application.
Fees
Completed forms along with the appropriate fees can be mailed or delivered to the appropriate Fulton County Board of Health Environmental Health Services office. The forms need to be mailed to the nearest location where the on-site sewage management systems will be placed.
Solid Waste
Solid waste is material in solid form resulting from public, domestic or commercial enterprises. Solid waste must be disposed of in a proper manner. Litter, trash, refuse, rubble and other construction debris are all examples of solid waste. All commercial facilities, except banking institutions, must provide adequate solid waste provisions for the handling and storage of waste generated from their facilities. EHS reviews and approves construction plans and performs final inspections to ensure adequate capacity and the proper location to minimize odors, insect and/or rodent infestations.
