Carry Narcan. Save Lives.

The Fulton County Board of Health is encouraging residents and visitors to learn about Narcan (naloxone), a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose and help prevent overdose deaths.

As Atlanta hosts large crowds during the soccer tournament, having access to Narcan and knowing how to respond to an overdose can make a critical difference in an emergency. Narcan is safe, easy to administer, and can be used by anyone in an emergency.

Signs of an Opioid Overdose

  • Unresponsiveness or inability to wake up
  • Slow, shallow, or stopped breathing
  • Blue or gray lips and fingernails
  • Pinpoint pupils
  • Choking or gurgling sounds

What To Do

  1. Call 911 immediately.
  2. Administer Narcan if available.
  3. Stay with the person until emergency responders arrive.
  4. If needed, provide a second dose of Narcan according to instructions.

Free Narcan is available through the Play It Safe Atlanta campaign at locations throughout the city.

Knowing where to find Narcan and how to use it could help save a life. Visit the Play It Safe Atlanta page to find free Narcan locations and additional overdose prevention resources.

More lives saved each dose.
